Conference on Agrocomposting

On July 4th 2018 took place in Azuqueca de Henares a informative congress about the alternatives of diversification and economical optimization of agricultural products.

Grupo Operativo Agrocompostable is made up of several civil, agricultural and technical organizations from Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, País Vasco, Galicia, Comunidad Valenciana and Canarias, and funded by the Ministerio de Agricultura y Pesca, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente (MAPAMA) –current Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (MAPA)–, the European Union (EU), and the Programa Nacional de Desarrollo Rural (PNDR).

 

The Congress focused on the waste collection system of urban organic residues in schools by farmers and explaining the technical process the Mancomunidad de la Vega de Henares does to treat these residues. The presentation was based on the expertise of the speakers

The attendees were approximately forty people, amongs them were pubblic officials and municipal technicians interested in the improvement of the environmental management of the territory.

 

La Unio’s presentation, held by José Castro and Joan Manuel Mesado, included a reference and a brief explanation of the european Project LifeLowCarbonFeed for replicability and diffusion reasons.

 

After the presentations, there was a work meeting with the speakers: Santiago Casas Lara –Mancomunidad Vega de Henares (Castilla-La Mancha)-, Pilar Galindo Martínez –Sociedad Española de Agricultura Ecológica (SEAE)(España)-, Joan Manuel Mesado Martí- La Unió de Llauradors i Ramaders del País Valencià (Comunidad Valenciana)-, Jorge Piñeiro Portela and Alberto Román Noval- CALFENSA Proyectos S.L. and Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Galicia)-, and Alfredo Morilla Piñeiro, Franco Llobera and Miguel Ángel Padilla Gómez- EBR-Madrid Agrocomposta and Go Agrocompostaje INDRA (Madrid)-, as well as the technical attendee Manuel Redondo Arandilla- Red Terrae and Mercado, Comunicación y Desarrollo S.L. (Mercodes) (España)-,and the journalists Mónica Cuende Lozano and Eduardo Cordero Hurtado.
